FOLLOW JESUS

WHY CHOOSE JESUS?

The Bible tells us that there is a God that created all things for His pleasure which includes people.  In Revelation 4:11 says “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

Man's Problem: All Have Sinned

The Bible says that all have sinned and went against God’s purpose for our lives.  When we do something wrong that violates God’s purpose for our lives, the Bible calls that act a sin.  In Romans 3:10 the Bible says, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one”.  This verse acknowledges that no one is perfect.  Everyone has done something wrong meaning everyone has committed at least one sin during their lifetime.

Man's Problem: Sin Separates Us From God

In the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 59 and verse 2 it says, “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”  We lose a relationship with our Creator due to our nature to perform acts of sin.  The Bible tells us in Romans 5:12 that sin entered the world through the first man, Adam, and that all people have sinned since that time.   The verse says, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”

Man's Problem: Sin's Penalty is Death

The Bible says that the penalty or payment for performing sinful acts is Death.  This word death means both a first physical death and a second death in a place of torment called Hell.  Romans 6:23 tells us, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.  In the Book of Revelations, Chapter 21 and verse 8 it reads “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Jesus, God's Only Begotten Son, Loves You

One famous passage in the Bible is John 3:16 which tells us “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.  God hates sin, but He loves you so much that He gave His son to die on a cross to pay the penalty for our sin.  God’s Son, Jesus Christ, allowed Himself to die so that we don’t have to.  We can choose His FREE gift to have Eternal Life

Receive God's Free Gift of Eternal Life

God gave His Son to die upon a cross to provide a free gift of Eternal Life.  He provides a promise and instructions on how to receive His Gift of Eternal Life in Romans Chapter 10 verses 9 – 13.

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

From these verses, we know that receiving God’s FREE gift of salvation can be as simple as ABC.

Admit that you are a sinner (Romans 3:10)

Believe in your Heart that Jesus died and was resurrected for your sins.  Place your Faith and Trust in Jesus’ death as the payment for your sins (Romans 10:9).

Confess with your mouth and accept Jesus as the payment for your sins.  Pray to God and confess with your mouth that you believe that Jesus died for your sins and was resurrected as the Bible says.  Ask God and accept His FREE gift of Salvation (Romans 10:13).

We invite you to talk to God and receive His FREE gift TODAY!  Tomorrow is not promised and you may never get another chance to receive the gift of Eternal Life.  If you would like to receive this FREE gift, we welcome you to say the prayer below or say your own prayer modeled after these words.

 Dear God,

I know that I am a sinner and that I have done wrong.  I realize that the penalty for this sin is death.   I believe that Jesus died and was resurrected for my sins and I accept His death as payment for my sins.   I ask for forgiveness for my wrongdoings and invite Jesus into my heart and life.  I trust you Jesus and want to follow you as my God, Lord, and Savior.

Thank you Jesus for your gift of Eternal Life.

Amen.
